Second Stream

There is something exceptional about the Velliangiri Mountains in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu, India. Many Siddhas, Siddhar and Sages have practiced severe austerities and attained Self-realization in these mountains and it is said that the architect of yoga, Shiva himself, once resided here.

It was with great pleasure that I embarked on another adventurous trek to the Second Stream with my Isha friends, this time with video camera in hand.

To have available such natural beauty lying just out of the back gates of the yoga center here is truly a gift. Elephants, cobras, vipers, massive fruit bats, lemur, monkeys, all of this wonderful wildlife just right here. The people who live within the rural village we pass through on the way to Second Stream always seem accepting and warm with the occasional smile. The mountain spring water here in this area of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve is untouched and pristine, so much that we cook with it and many drink from it.

Even more special is the joy that my Isha friends and I are all feeling due to the pure forms of yoga we have learned and continue to practice every day. I hope I have managed to capture this in some way in this video and I dedicate this to the one who has assisted in cultivating such grace into our lives, Sadhguru.
